Dino Stepic - Team leader

everything else is about you - here's a bit about me

Like so many Winnipeggers, I came here as a young child with my family in search of a better life. We found it here and this city has been home ever since.

I was born in Croatia and grew up in Winnipeg. Whether you’ve arrived from another country, province, or just a different neighbourhood, I want to learn more about your story and your vision so you can move on to your next chapter with confidence.

My Background

It has always been important to me to work in a field where I could be myself and see people leave happier than they arrived because of the time we spent together.

My real estate journey began when I bought my first home at 21. A couple of years later, my parents purchased a farm and I did the opposite of what most people do in their twenties. I moved to a farm. A pheasant farm, of all things. I rented the house out and became a landlord almost by accident. It went well, so I bought more properties and learned a tremendous amount along the way.

During this time, I studied business at the University of Manitoba, focusing on economics, accounting, marketing, and management, while also working full time in hospitality.

In my mid twenties, I was diagnosed with an illness that could have left me dead or homeless if it were not for the support of my family and friends. It took me years to recover and I became a strong advocate for mental health.

As i recovered i took on new challenges.

I spent time working in a few different industries along the way. I sold life insurance and did well, but I did not enjoy it. The company was not ethical. The expectation was that I barge into the house, rattle off a 10-page script, and walk out with a cheque. Not my style.

I had an opportunity to sell cars, so I gave that a shot too, but that did not feel right either. If they wanted the blue one, and I only had black, I just couldn't find it in me to try and convince them the black one was better. It was "push or don't eat". I do not like being pushy. I enjoy eating.

I learned a tremendous amount in those sales roles, but I kept gravitating back toward hospitality. It was the environment where I felt most like myself.

During one of those returns to hospitality, I met my fiancée, Teah. There is no combination of words that can properly describe how incredible, supporting, and loving she is. She's pretty funny, too. If you're reading this after September 2027 please remind me to update this section.

Throughout all of this, I always thought of real estate as the end game. "I will sell real estate eventually," I told myself. It was always in the back of my head. The thought was made a reality after the second covid lockdown. I found out I was going to be a dad the day I took my first exam, and there was no going back!

RELEVANT Life ExperienceS

Influenced My Career In Real Estate

My parents taught me early that nothing good comes easy, and that it is important to work both hard and smart. Most importantly, to keep your word.

That mindset stuck with me, and I am proud that more than 75% of our clients come from referrals or work with us again.

Managing rental properties and helping my brother get started taught me how real estate works from the inside. Financing, both traditional and creative strategies, tenant relationships, and the buying process were all second nature to me by the time I became licensed.

A decade in hospitality taught me something equally important: how to listen carefully, anticipate needs, and make people feel comfortable during important decisions. Ever been brought something you specifically said you were allergic to, or really did not like, and had to sit there watching everyone else eat while they remake your meal? Ever had a place just 'forget' your reservation?

The buying or selling process can feel just as daunting. Mistakes happen. Things do not always go according to plan.

How the restaurant, or the people helping you with the biggest move of your life, respond in moments when things go wrong have a huge impact on the overall experience.

When things go well, we celebrate with you. Best day ever. When they do not, we fix what we can, reassess and help you choose the best path forward.

My time in sales sharpened my ability to communicate clearly and negotiate effectively. Combined with my business education at the University of Manitoba, it gave me a strong foundation for helping clients navigate complex decisions.

But learning never really stops. I still work closely with mentors who have more experience than I do, and we take every opportunity to improve so our clients benefit from it.

I was the number one agent in sales in my office in my second full month as a licensed agent, and I maintained that momentum, helping 51 families buy or sell real estate in my first twelve months. That is roughly five times what the average agent in Winnipeg completes in a year. In 2022, I moved to RE/MAX One Group to see how much farther I can go.

Dad life and taking care of my clients do not leave much time for hobbies these days, but I do enjoy leisurely biking along our river trails and sharing a good meal with good company at one of Winnipeg’s many great restaurants. I love this city. It has been incredibly good to my family. It is also an amazing place to plant roots, or to build from and go anywhere.

My Goals as a Winnipeg REALTOR®

The house hunting process can be a lot of fun, but it can also be confusing. Instead of leaving you in the dark, my goal is to help you clearly understand how the Winnipeg real estate market works and what you can expect from a REALTOR®.

Understanding what affects the purchase, sale, or value of a property is a life skill that will benefit you long after the transaction is complete.

I see real estate as part of a lifelong education. Buying your first home is not the end of your experience in the market. It is just the beginning. I want to help you navigate the process of buying and selling, while also keeping you informed about market changes, interest rates, renovation options, and practical tips for maintaining your home.

Whether you have questions about cooperative selling systems, the services REALTORS® provide, or what to expect during the purchase, sale, or lease of real estate in Winnipeg, I am here to help.

I am proud to be well reviewed and trusted by the people I work with. My goal is simple: to make sure you have the information you need and the guidance you want so you can not only succeed in the biggest transaction of your life, but enjoy the process too.
